Pom Pom Caterpillar

Now that you have shown your kids how to make pom poms, how about making a pom pom caterpillar?  The hardest part is making the pom poms, the rest is really easy and your kids will end up with a curly caterpillar to decorate their room with.

What you need to make this Pom Pom Caterpillar...

  • my caterpillar template
  • a piece of card
  • 7 pom poms in your choice of colours
  • googly eyes
  • scraps of cardboard or felt
  • safety scissors
  • glue (or a glue gun - but only with adult supervision...)
  • pipe cleaners (optional)

Instructions:

If you haven't already, make 7 pom poms in a variety of colours.

Print or trace the template onto a piece of card and cut it out using safety scissors.

Glue your 7 pom poms onto the cardboard cut-out to form the caterpillar's body.

Give your caterpillar a face by gluing on eyes and a nose.

You don't have to do your face the same way I did mine, let the kids run wild with their imaginations.  You might also like to use pipe cleaners to add legs, you could either glue them under each pom pom as you go or you can glue them onto the under side of the base when you are done.
